It’s during the playoffs that the stakes are raised even higher and they will be for the Burbank High and Burroughs girls’ soccer teams, along with the Burroughs boys’ soccer squad as all three have CIF Southern Section matches this week.

The Lady Bulldogs, who finished in a 2-2 tie against the Lady Indians behind Kira Bochard’s two second-half goals, are the third place team in the Pacific League, while the Indians took fourth.

The teams finished with identical 9-4-1 league marks, but Burbank went 1-0-1 in head-to-head competition against its rival.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-4-3) are on the road in a Division IV match and will face Culver City (15-5-2) on Thursday with the winner playing Immaculate Heart or Mayfair on Feb. 23.

The Lady Indians (12-4-1) have a road date against top-seeded La Mirada (14-5-4) in a Division IV contest on the same day.

Meanwhile, the Burroughs boys’ soccer team (14-6-2) hosts Cajon (11-6-7) at Memorial Field in a Division III wild-card clash on Friday with the winner to face Santa Maria (19-4-1).
