Burbank Pedestrian Succumbs From Injuries

Burbank Police released the following release regarding a traffic accident last Friday:
On July 10, 2015, at about 6:00 pm, a collision involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian occurred at the intersection of Verdugo Avenue and California Street in the City of Burbank.

The on-scene investigation revealed that an 80 year old male, identified as Manharlal Shah a resident of Burbank, was struck while crossing Verdugo Avenue in a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle was in the process of making a left turn from northbound California Street to westbound Verdugo Avenue when the collision occurred. The impact knocked Mr. Shah to the ground, which resulted in significant head trauma.

He was treated at the scene by Burbank Fire Department Paramedics and transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Mr. Shah subsequently succumbed to his injuries on July 17, 2015. The driver of the vehicle which struck Mr. Shah remained at the scene and did not display any symptoms of impairment.

There have been no arrests made or citations issued as part of this investigation, which is on-going. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact Burbank Police Department Traffic Investigators at (818) 238-3100.
