Mayor to Resume Duties Soon After Vertigo Scare

After feeling ill last week, Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos had his wife take him over to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a case of vertigo.

Frutos missed the Council meeting last Tuesday and the State of the City address the next day. He had put many hours not only on his speech, but the video presentation that was also shown.

His wife, Laura Frutos took note of the community’s concern and wanted people to know his condition, “Bob and I would like to give you an update regarding Bob’s well being as we have received many phone calls and emails of concern:

Bob was admitted to the hospital last Monday night due to a problem with his inner ear which caused a severe vertigo incident. He was discharged on Wednesday and he is home recovering.

Bob is looking forward to getting back to his daily duties and his job as Mayor very soon.  We want to thank all of the well-wishers and we appreciate all of the good thoughts and prayers”.

Since serving his term as Mayor, Frutos has been extremely busy with community events, meetings, ribbon cuttings and all the daily things that come up in Burbank. He has retired from the LAPD and is now a reserve officer for the department.

One of the first major tasks will be the airport agreement that he helped mold with the Airport Authority. It was put on hold last week until he could return to the dais.
