Burbank Resident Arrested For Firing Gun

Burbank Police responded in force to Linsmore Ln. early Thursday morning after shots were fired during an attempted auto repossession. (Photo by Ross A. Benson)

An attempt to repossess an automobile early this morning ended with shots being fired, one man in jail, and nobody injured.

The incident began shortly after midnight when two men were attempting to legally repossess a vehicle in the 3300 block of Lismore Lane, in the exclusive gated residential area in the hills above Burbank.   The Burbank police department received a call regarding a disturbance, and dispatched officers.  While the officers were responding to the call, it was upgraded to shots being fired.

When police arrived on scene, they contacted two repo men in front of a home on Lismore Ln.  The men told officers that someone from inside the residence came out of the home while they were in the driveway.  Two shots were fired by someone from the home.  The repo men told offices they saw the muzzle flash as they were standing on the sidewalk.  Neither man was hit.

Police surrounded the home and contacted the residents inside by telephone, before ordering them out of the house.  Once outside, one of residents, Konstanin Abramian, 76, admitted to firing two rounds towards the ground to scare the two repo men away.   Police recovered two firearms from the residence.

Abramian was placed under arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Burbank Jail. His bail was set at $50,000.  He is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.

Turns out the vehicle the repo men were looking for belongs to someone who has never lived at the address they were at.   The vehicle in question wasn’t even there.
