Suspect Arrested After Pulling a Knife on Security Guard at Ralph’s Market

Burbank Police arrested a 52 year-old man who was on parole after police responded to the Ralph’s market at San Fernando and Alameda Tuesday night.  The 55 year-old security guard called police to who first responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call.

The guard had first stopped the suspect as he left Ralph’s Market after the sensors went off.   The suspect immediately pulled a knife and moved toward the security guard, telling him to back off.

The suspect then fled the area through the parking lot as the security guard called the police. While checking the area, police located a suspect matching the description in the gas station at Alameda and San Fernando.

Officers then transported the suspect back to the store where the security guard positively identified the suspect and he was arrested for 212.5 (a) PC-Robbery.  Officers checking the area, recovered the knife and property that was discarded by the suspect near the gas station.

Arrested was Kenneth Priem, 52, of Burbank.  Bail is $50,000 with a court date of April 25.

A three vehicle traffic collision occurred at the entrance to CVS and Ralphs Market at Buena Vista St. and Victory St. Thursday night, April 21.  The Toyota Tundra pick-up truck, which was head southbound on Buena Vista, collided into the passenger side of the Toyota Rav4 SUV making a left turn into the parking lot.   Due to the force of the impact, both vehicles slid to the side and collided with the Dodge Avenger which was pulling out of the parking lot. All the Rav4’s airbags were deployed in the accident and all occupants walked away with little to no injuries.  All persons involved were checked out by Burbank Fire Paramedics and released.  The Police Department was on scene for investigation.
