The Burbank Police Explorers recently sold wreath/garland for a fundraiser to help support their activities during the year.

A Burbank Police Sergeant was not only generous enough to purchase 30 wreaths and garlands to help support the young men and women who seek a future in law enforcement, but he also requested that the wreaths and garlands be donated to elderly Burbank citizens.

Therefore, 10 wreaths and garlands were taken to the Salvation Army, 10 went to the Burbank Temporary Aid, and 10 went to elderly people who were randomly chosen by the Joslyn Adult Center.

Some of the elderly receive meals on wheels, and/or are unable to leave their homes.  When the elderly people were notified of the wreath or garland delivery by the police they were ecstatic and even became emotional.

During this holiday season, needy children tend to be the focus of many donations. However, it is also important not to forget and to recognize our adult community who need our help and love as well.
