The pedestrian, a 3-year-old female, was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The girl, who the coroner’s office identified as McKaylee Grampp, was accidentally struck by her father who was driving the car. It does not appear alcohol, drugs or speed were a factor in the collision and no arrests have been made.

The girl’s mother, who appeared to be pregnant, was transported by paramedics for precautions.

An on-line account has been set up to assist the family. You can go to a YOU CARE Account to donate.

Two Burbank Police chaplains were called to the scene and assisted with the emotional state of the family and several neighbors, bystanders and officers.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Burbank Police Traffic Investigators at (818) 238-3100.

    1. You need to remove the photos of the grieving parents. This is just beyond the pale and just adding to the pain that this family is suffering.

      • We have taken down some of our pictures in respect to some readers wishes. While we understand this is a very emotional, sensitive situation, our intent was to show the compassion of the Burbank Police Officers who were on scene while bringing the tragic news also. Since we all live in this community together, we are sensitive to the situation and community feelings.

    2. This is so sad. All cars, at the very least high cars with poor rear visibility, should come with a rear-view camera. I know another family who lost their three-year old daughter this way. My thoughts are with the family.
