Burbank Fire Fighters were called to a smokey fire that turned out to be a rubbish fire to the rear of Big 5 Sporting Goods and The Discovery Store Tuesday afternoon. As a precaution, the stores were evacuated, but the fire did not spread to the inside. Firefighters had the blaze out within minutes of their arrival.
The cause was undetermined as of this publication. Damage was minimal.
