The incident began around 2:00 p.m. on March 2, 2026, when officers with the Burbank Police Department responded to reports of a driver intentionally colliding with other vehicles near the 1600 block of North San Fernando Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found several vehicles involved in a traffic collision. Witnesses told police that the driver of a white SUV had been driving erratically, weaving through traffic and deliberately striking multiple vehicles.

According to police, the suspect then exited the SUV and attempted to carjack at least two occupied vehicles before fleeing on foot toward businesses in the 1500 block of North San Fernando Boulevard.

While in that area, the suspect reportedly threw a chair through the window of one business before entering another establishment, where he allegedly assaulted two elderly male victims. Both victims suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Officers soon located the suspect in the parking lot of a strip mall in the 1500 block of North San Fernando Boulevard, where authorities say he continued behaving aggressively and struck several responding officers.

During the struggle, one officer suffered abrasions and a bite injury to the face. Officers were ultimately able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody.

Police identified the suspect as 32-year-old Christopher Ghazarian of Burbank.

Ghazarian was arrested and booked on multiple felony offenses, including assault with a deadly weapon.

On March 3, 2026, the case was presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which filed 13 felony charges against Ghazarian, including assault with a deadly weapon, attempted carjacking, and assault on a peace officer.
