More than 100 former colleagues, friends and family were on hand Saturday afternoon at John Burroughs High to remember the life of Linda Murphy.
A member of the first U.S. Olympic women’s volleyball team in 1964, Murphy died in January at the age of 82.
She later taught in Burbank Unified and was the girls volleyball coach at Burroughs from 1984 to 2002.
Her family shared some of the memorabilia and awards she collected during her time as an Olympic level athlete.
