Safety is always our top priority for passengers, staff, tenants, and all stakeholders while they are at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR). We are fortunate to be partnering with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other agencies on the construction of the Replacement Passenger Terminal (RPT) – the most critical safety project in the history of the Airport, which opened in 1930.

The RPT was put in front of Burbank voters and approved in 2016. The new facility will replace the current terminal building and will, amongst other things, correct safety issues the FAA has identified as “hot spots”. At BUR, the two “hot spots” pertain to the proximity of the existing terminal building to the active runways.

The building is being constructed in a different section of the airport property complex and will eliminate these conditions. Not only will the RPT be a model of efficiency and modern airport convenience, it will also meet all current airport design standards for terminal proximity to active runways and taxiways.

The RPT is a $1.3 billion investment in the safety and security of those who travel and work at BUR, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods and businesses.

We look forward to welcoming the community and the traveling public from near and far to Hollywood Burbank Airport when the new terminal opens later this year in October.
