Richard Glen Carlborg, 83, a lifelong resident of Burbank, CA, passed away on March 25, 2026.

He was born in October of 1942 in Santa Monica, to Clarence and Eloise Carlborg (Langner). He was a 1960 graduate of John Burroughs High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Fernando Valley State College (now California State University, Northridge), had a successful career at the California Institute of Technology, and was a small business owner. He married Wanda in 1978 and spent the next 48 years loving her as only he could.

He achieved his lifelong dream of early retirement, and he and Wanda spent their time traveling. They visited Europe, but Kona, Hawaii, was their favorite, and they spent a part of each year in the Hawaiian Islands. He loved to laugh and had a sense of humor that had to be experienced to be appreciated.

Richard is survived by his wife, Wanda, and sons Robert, Chip, and Bob. He had six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on April 24, 2026, at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 438 E. Harvard Road, Burbank, CA.
