Every year on the first Tuesday of August, the Nation celebrates National Night Out. Here locally, Burbank Police have gathered in many ways. Years ago, they put together events at several homes, along with a community gathering on Chandler Blvd at Keystone next to the Chandler Bike Path. After outgrowing that location, they moved to Johnny Carson Park for a couple of years, with several neighborhoods still having block parties. One year, they held the event at the rear of the Police/Fire services building.
This year’s event was moved again and finally parked at McCambrge Park, with only 5 houses having block parties. One house located on W Orange Grove has gathered for the past 10 years, having a potluck, Games, and much more.
