Burbank Fire responded to a reported fire at a multi-family dwelling under construction at 650 S Sixth Street at the corner of Sixth and Cedar.

Upon arrival, the first-in Engine Company reported smoke showing from a multi-story condo project, with dozens of construction workers milling outside. They received reports of an active fire on one of the subterranean parking levels. Securing a water supply from a nearby fire hydrant, Engine 11 made entry with a additional crew as backup.

They located a fire underground; not sure if it had extended into the apartments above. Now with several pieces of equipment on scene, the Incident Commander had units assist with the fire attack as units made their way into apartments and onto the roof.

Additional equipment consisting of an engine and an extra truck company was requested. Glendale Fire rolled in to assist, sending a Battalion Chief and engine company.

The fire was knocked down and kept to the subterranean garage where it started. The cause remains under investigation, and the damage was still being tabulated.
