This past week, the Burbank Masonic Lodge, located on Irving Drive, held a dinner to honor this year’s First Responders.
The dinner and awards ceremony is a function the lodge hosts every year to honor and recognize the Firefighter of the Year and the Burbank Police Officer of the Year. They also honor The Professional Staff from the Burbank Police Department.
This year’s recipients were Firefighter Brennan Blazer, Police Sergeant Arron Denning, and Records Staff Angie Gray Salas.
The dignitaries who were present included Mayor Tamala Takahashi, Vice Mayor Zizette Mullins, and Councilmember Chris Rizotti. Masons included Sheldon Mazo, Brayam Garcia, and Sevak Petrosyan, Tommy Quiroz, Senior Warden of the Burbank Lodge, and Jhairo Echevarria, Master of Ceremonies.
The keynote speaker for the evening was Ron Lawrence, retired Costa Mesa Police Chief and Former President of the Masonic Lodge. Burbank Police Chief Rafael Quintero, along with Burbank Fire Chief Danny Alvarez, was in attendance. Several Burbank Police Command Staff were also present to help celebrate the evening.
