The Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center invites community members, patients, families, caregivers and breast cancer survivors to its annual Pink Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event will feature the ceremonial illumination of the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center in pink, symbolizing hope, support and remembrance for those affected by breast cancer. Guests will gather to honor survivors, remember loved ones and raise awareness about the importance of early detection and breast health.
“Breast cancer touches countless lives in our community,” said Nicketti Handy, M.D., breast surgical oncologist at Providence. “This gathering is an opportunity to come together in support of patients and families while encouraging everyone to prioritize regular screenings and preventive care.”
The free event will include remarks from cancer care leaders, a pink lighting countdown ceremony, and information about breast health resources and screening services available through the cancer center.
Breast cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among women. Routine mammograms and early detection play a critical role in improving outcomes and saving lives.
