The City of Burbank Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the launch of the Residents Inspiring Service and Empowerment (RISE) Burbank program for Class of 2027.
RISE provides a wide range of opportunities for Burbank residents to enhance their leadership skills. This free eight-week program is designed to inspire leadership, empower residents, and foster constructive dialogue to invigorate civic engagement. Participants will broaden their understanding of the City and its resources, while connecting them to the City of Burbank officials, as well as local nonprofits and businesses.
Applications will be accepted from individuals 18 years or older, including high school seniors, who are committed to creating positive changes in their communities through service and empowerment. Program sessions will be held every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., beginning January 20, 2027. Some session times will vary. The last session will conclude with a graduation ceremony on Wednesday, March 10, 2027.
This is a volunteer program, and there is no fee to participate. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026. For more information and to apply, visit www.burbankca.gov/RISE.
