An evening of remembrance, tradition and family fun is coming to Walt Disney Elementary School on Saturday, October 17, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The school’s Día de los Muertos celebration will bring the community together through food, live entertainment, games, arts and crafts, and opportunities to honor loved ones.
Rooted in the Mexican tradition of remembering those who have passed, the celebration is organized by the school’s PTA and offers families a meaningful way to share stories and celebrate the lives of people who remain close to their hearts.
Families can purchase 2, 4, or 6 foot ofrenda spaces to create their own tributes. These altar spaces can be filled with photographs, flowers, battery-operated candles, favorite foods and treasured keepsakes. Larger spaces offer room to honor multiple generations or an entire family, bringing their memories together in one personal display.
Personalized memorial veladoras are also available for purchase online as well as face-painting tickets, and a commemorative light-up shirt, which features a new design each year. Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy food and live entertainment, games, activities, and creative projects.
You can find presale admission, family ticket packs, and other additional celebration items sold online HERE. Walt Disney Elementary School is located at 1220 W Orange Grove Ave, Burbank, CA 91506.
