The Burbank Police Department (BPD) unveiled their annual pink police cruiser and motorcycle for Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 1st via social media with a message from Chief Rafael Quintero.

On the morning of October 1st the vehicles began their display in front of the Burbank Fire and Police Headquarters building, and have already been making appearances at local community events around the city. “This pink wrap serves as a visible representation of the importance of regular screening and early screening detection,” Lieutenant Brent Fekety.

The car’s wrap was designed and installed by local Burbank business Wrapix Imaging that does graphic design from red carpets to commercial fleet wraps. Wrapix owner, Adam Sumner, and his team have been partnering with BPD on this project and donating the materials and labor since 2017, as the cause is close to home for Sumner and his family.

Along with the pink cruiser, Burbank police officers have switched to pink patches on their uniform as part of their campaign to raise awareness. “For many of us breast cancer is more than a cause, it has affected our family, our friends, our coworkers, and members of the community that we serve,” said Chief Quintero. “The vehicle is a reminder of the strength of those that are currently fighting breast cancer, the courage of the survivors and the memory of those we have lost.”

The pink car will be making appearances at local Burbank community events throughout the month of October and during the down time will be on display in front of the headquarters building located at 200 N. Third St.
