The City of Burbank Park, Recreation and Community Services Board recognized 30 high school students who successfully completed the summer 2011 Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program at their meeting this past Thursday night. Recently retired (but still very active in the Burbank community) Mickey DePalo handed out Certificates of Achievement to the gathered students. The Commission thanked them for their service, participation and many Volunteer hours fulfilled. The program, which is supervised by Recreation Leader Marcela Madrigal, was not only a good experience for the CIT’s, but also for the many kids in Burbank that were touched by their efforts.
