On October 4, 2015, a witness came to the Burbank Police Station and described seeing a child being molested in the backseat of a vehicle that was parked in the Vallarta Market parking lot, located at 10950 Sherman Way, Burbank. Using information provided by the witness, officers were able to contact and identify the possible victim of the molestation.
The victim, a 10 year-old female, corroborated the events described by the witness, verifying she was in fact a victim of sex acts against her. The suspect was identified as her biological grandfather, 78 year-old Guillermo Rincon-Lugo a resident of North Hollywood. Rincon-Lugo was interviewed and made admissions related to the molestation.
Rincon-Lugo was arrested and booked into the Burbank City Jail.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has since filed two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 years of age against Rincon-Lugo. He appeared in court on October 6, 2015 for arraignment, where he pled not guilty.
Rincon-Lugo is due back in court on October 15, 2015. He is currently in the custody of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on $200,000 bail.
