This holiday season, as in the past, United Parcel Service has employed holiday workers to assist in delivery of the added packages for the holiday season. Here in Burbank there are several UPS bike riders working the city.
In speaking to Kevin Soule, a holiday employee, he enjoys the bike detail. He’s supplied all the equipment, including helmet, safety vest bike with attached trailer.
Soule said he has dropped packages off and rang the bell and while walking back to his delivery bike he’s gotten a thank you from many residents. He works the same neighborhood and homeowners have even asked him to leave package behind gates and in secured places.
With the number of packages being stolen recently it was suggested that when ordering and expecting delivery leave instructions as to a secure place to leave your packages including neighbors who are home during the day.
