Decorating of Burbank’s float for the Tournament of Roses Parade will be in full swing this week, and volunteers can help.

The Burbank Tournament of Roses Association accepts volunteers aged 5 and up.  Those under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  All volunteers must sign a release form before working on the float, and those under 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian..

The float is built and decorated in the “float barn” located in the Burbank Water and Power yard at 123 W. Olive Ave.  The entrance is under the Olive Ave. bridge, across from Borrmann Steel Co.  Parking is available in the Metrolink parking lot.

Decorating hours are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., although work continues later into the night.  New volunteers are encouraged to come early in the week to allow time to be trained and assigned.  No new volunteers will be accepted on December 31 and January 1.   Workers should wear clothing that will get dirty, and may be ruined.  No open-toed shoes are allowed.

For more information, or to go to the Burbank Tournament of Roses Association at http://www.BurbankRoseFloat.com .  The release forms are available at the float barn or on the web site.
