The spirit of the holiday season was pawsitively thriving at the Burbank Animal Shelter as dozens of blankets, boxes of dog and cat treats, food bowls, cat scratching pads, rawhide chews and more filled the enormous brown boxes dropped off today compliments of the cast & crew of “Pretty Little Liars.”
The production has spent the last month collecting much-needed items for the dogs, cats and rabbits who temporarily reside at the Shelter and crew member Kateland Brown played Santa delivering the goods. Kateland, who works for producer Lisa Cochran, made ornaments from Burbank Animal Shelter pet photos to trim the company tree and tug at the heart strings of the cast and crew who were beyond generous with their donations.
Animal Control Officers John McCullough and Tracy Fossen were on hand along with Volunteer President Denise Fleck to accept the items. Fleck beamed, “It’s wonderful to see how animals touch so many. At this time of year, ‘the season of giving,’ many people do open their hearts and wallets to help others, but all of us here are delighted that this production remembered that animals who give back to people all year long. Besides the staples of food and litter, cast members thought of toys, cozy beds and kitty scratching posts — items that are often considered luxuries to homeless pets. The staff and volunteers of BAS truly feel blessed by the friends they have in the Burbank Community, and our friends at Pretty Little Liars rank high on that list!”
Pretty Little Liars airs Mondays at 8pm on ABC Family. The show is set in Rosewood, a perfect little town. So quiet and pristine, you’d never guess it holds so many secrets. Some of the ugliest ones belong to the prettiest girls in town — Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) — four estranged friends whose darkest secrets are about to unravel over the death of their best friend. Chad Lowe and Holly Marie Combs also star in the series touting its Winter Premiere January 2nd.
