Long Time Burbank resident Barney Meskin passed away peacefully earlier this week. He was 95.
Born in Lithuania, he came to the US at the age of 7. He was a regular at Joslyn Adult Center where he ran a Senior Support Group
Meskin served in the US Navy during WWII, stationed in Hawaii. In 1948, he married June Miller, the woman who “makes my world go ‘round,” and moved to Burbank.
A successful entrepreneur, Meskin operated several hotels and pool halls and was also active at Burbank Temple Emanu El where he served in many capacities.
He contributed not only money but time and energy to many charitable causes. Known for his great sense of humor, he was loved and respected for his lifetime commitment to bettering the lives of people around him.
He is survived by his loving wife June, children Janet, Philleen & Harry, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held February 8, at 12:30 pm at Mt. Sinai Cemetery on Forest Lawn Dr.
