Barragan’s Restaurant turned 65 this past Thursday, and the party was felt all day long. Long-time employees, some with over 40 years of service, were on hand to celebrate.

Along with Armando Barragan Senior and his son Armondo Junior, other family relatives seated guests and helped keep the long line of customers happy, as they have for 65 years.

The original Barragans, located in Echo Park, was opened by Ramon Barragan, and the Burbank location, at 730 N Victory Blvd., opened in 1985. Although it is closed on Tuesdays, the restaurant offers Taco Specials every Monday.

The line of customers waiting wrapped around the restaurant, but the talk was happy, and the line moved rather quickly. Many locals who frequent the Mexican Restaurant were seen enjoying their Margaritas and chips and salsa while awaiting their meals.

To keep the celebration of 65 years in business going all month in September, on Thursdays you can choose from a special menu offering meals for $6.50 each.
