This is going to be a busy week for Burroughs High and Burbank as each school will be involved in CIF Southern Section playoff action.

The Indians’ girls’ volleyball team has a home date against Pacifica Oxnard (14-7 overall) in an opening-round Division II-A match on Tuesday. It’s scheduled to commence at 6 p.m.

Burroughs went undefeated in Pacific League play at 14-0 and 21-7 after sweeping rival Burbank, which placed fourth in league. If Burroughs wins, it will have another match on Thursday.CIF Southern Section

On the same day, the Indians’ boys’ water polo squad (12-11) will have a home game against Atascadero (9-14) in a Division 4 wildcard match.

Three days later, football will dominate as the Indians and Bulldogs will each have home games on Friday, with kickoffs scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Burroughs, which went 9-1 and 7-0 in league, will play Norwalk (4-6) at Memorial Field.

Burbank, which went 6-4 and 5-2 for second place in league after losing to the Indians 47-21 in the “Big Game” last Friday, will face Dominguez Compton (7-3) at either Moyse Field on the campus of Glendale High or Occidental College in Eagle Rock.
