The City of Burbank Centennial celebration onFriday, July 8, at 5 p.m. in front of City Hall will include an air parade in honor of Bob Hope Airport featuring McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornets and B-25 Mitchell bombers flown by the United States Navy, and a variety of vintage aircraft flying directly over Olive Avenue and Burbank City Hall. The fly-by will take place at approximately 5:45 p.m.
In anticipation of the event, the City has produced a Centennial Air Parade poster for display throughout Burbank, and a 16 foot x 26 foot banner version of the poster is now on display on the façade of the Bob Hope Airport terminal tower. It will remain throughout the summer for the public to view.
The City celebration, dubbed “The Party of the Century,” will culminate about 9:30 p.m. with a live firework display in Downtown Burbank. Besides the Air Parade at 5:45 p.m., the event will include multiple stages of live musical entertainment.
