On arrival, paramedics located a white male motionless on the west side of the off-ramp. The male was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by Burbank Fire Department paramedics.  He was dressed in civilian clothes, and had his identification on him when found.   There was no indication of foul play according to police.

The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has identified the dead man as Lee Clifford Morris, 55, of Richland, Washington.  Morris was employed by Alaska Airlines as a pilot, and was apparently registered at the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel at 2100 Empire Ave.,  on a scheduled layover.  The airline is cooperating with police and the coroner in the investigation.

This case is being treated as a suspicious death, and is being  investigated by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.  They are being assistanced by detectives from the Burbank Police Department.   An autopsy to determine the cause of death is expected to be conducted today or tomorrow, according to police.  The investigation is ongoing.
