Boy Scout Venture Crew (consisting of boys and girls ages 14-20) have fallen short of fundraising expectations for summer camp being held in the first week of August.
According to spokesperson Jim Etter, one of the group’s leaders; “The price of gasoline has placed a huge burden on this camping summer retreat to the Sierras, where approximately 12 members of Venture Crew 201 of Burbank are traveling 1,000 mile in 3 vehicles.” “The price of fuel has driven the budget cost substantially, along with California raising camping fees, for the small group”.
In moving forward with the Crew’s plans, (and most who will attend do not have sufficient support from their household budgets,) leaders have scheduled a Pancake Breakfast at the Magnolia Park United Methodist Church of Burbank, 2828 W. Magnolia Blvd., in Fellowship Hall on Saturday, July 23rd starting at 7AM and running into the afternoon until 1PM.
All collected proceeds will be used to send the Crew to Camp. Donations of $5 for a “all you can eat” Pancake Breakfast with regular pancakes, banana, or Corn Fritters. (Sausage & 2-any style eggs) Juice, Coffee, Tea or Milk.
On the table will be the Saturday Morning Newspapers of the area and National News.  Customers will be seated and served on china plates with real dinnerware.
