Broken Gas Main on Buena Vista Causes Evacuations, Traffic

Burbank Police closed Buena Vista south of Victory Blvd. after a major gas leak was discovered mid block on Tuesday afternoon.

The Burbank Fire Department was called and assisted while crews from Southern California Gas Company worked to stop the flow of natural gas. Several apartment dwellers were evacuated, to a nearby parking lot, during the closer.

Traffic was detoured from Buena Vista and several surrounding streets during the shut down during rush hour traffic, causing major traffic situations in the surrounding area.
