Burbank, Burroughs Receive New Assistant Principals

Besides a new Principal at Burbank High, new Assistant Principals have also been appointed to the two high schools.  They will be ready to go when school resumes in August and will assume their new posts on July 1.  They are:

Laura Vinyard has been appointed Assistant Principal of Discipline for Burbank High School. Laura began working at the Burbank Unified School District in 1996 as a teacher at Jordan Middle School, where she has also been an ELD Coordinator and Title I Coordinator. Laura has served as a BTSA Support Provider for new teachers and as a presenter for the California League of Middle Schools and the California Mathematics Council Conference. In 2006, Laura was selected as the Burbank Unified School District Teacher of the Year and went on to the county level. Laura attended California State University, Northridge, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater in 1988, a second Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 1994, and her Masters of Science and Administrative Services Credential in 2011.

Matthew Chambers

Matthew Chambers has been appointed to the position of Assistant Principal of Athletics and Activities at John Burroughs High School. His teaching career began in 2008 when he was hired to teach business at Burroughs. Matt has taught Business Management, Consumer Finance, Virtual Academy, and Broadcast Journalism. During the past five years, Matt has been honored as Most Inspirational Teacher by the Senior Class in 2010 and again in 2013. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2006 from California State University, Northridge, and went on to receive his Master of Science in Education and his Administrative Services Credential at National University in 2012.
