Burbank Fire Department Quickly Knocks Down Apartment Fire On Cypress

Burbank Fire Fighters got the alarm at 6:16 pm and were on scene at 468 E Cypress Avenue within minutes to the find a 2 story multi unit apartment with heavy smoke showing from a rear apartment.

Fire Firefighters on scene were met by the apartment’s occupant who told them that himself and one other person were out of the unit but a couple of cats were unaccounted for. Those first firefighters made an aggressive attach and held the fire to the apartment of origin.

Two cats were recovered and were alive and well, while one was overcome by smoke even with it being treated by firefighters  with fresh oxygen it expired at the scene.

The cause was determined to accidental and there were no injuries to firefighters nor civilians.

Damage was being tallied and the occupants of the 3 bedroom apartment were being cared for by The American Red Cross.
