Burbank Fire responded a full alarm structure assignment to a house fire at 1825 North Maple Street Friday around 12:25 pm.

Upon arriving on scene, the first engine company reported smoke coming from the windows of a one story house and initiated search and rescue and an interior attack.

Two engine companies advanced interior attack lines fighting the fire while the remainder of the assignment performed rooftop ventilation and secured utilities.

Firefighters also initiated a rapid intervention group for firefighter rescue needs and attended to the medical evaluation of one occupant who was outside upon our arrival and had been exposed to smoke. She was evaluated by paramedics and refused further treatment or transport to the hospital.

Once the initial rescue ambulance was committed to help the resident, an additional Rescue Ambulance was requested to augment medical resource capabilities

The fire was knocked down approximately fifteen minutes after arrival of the 21 personnel on scene. Burbank Police performed street closures allowing companies to move freely and safely about the narrow street and their apparatus.

There were no firefighter injuries and the occupant was making arrangements to stay with a relative.

An investigator was requested and will conduct a follow-up investigation of the incident to establish a cause. Loss estimates were $100,000.00 to the structure and $100,000.00 to contents.
