Burbank firefighters were dispatched to a house fire Sunday night at 9:24 pm in the 400 block of N. Orchard. Burbank police on scene first, reported that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the flames appeared to be on the outside of the home and were threatening the home’s attic through ventilation holes. A neighbor along with a Police Officer with a garden hose were attempting to put out the flames.
Quick work by firemen both inside and outside, along with roof ventilation supplied by a truck company, had the fire declared a knockdown in 27 minutes at 9:51 pm.
Reports from the scene indicated that the fire might have started outside the structure near some recycling. An investigator was called to the scene.
Engine 15 reported that there was $50,000 damage to the structure and $2,000 damage done to contents.
An official cause has yet to be determined and is still under investigation.
