Burbank Police arrested Vartan Samani, a 37-year-old resident of Burbank, for charges related to possession of methamphetamine, including a charge for bringing drugs into the Burbank Jail, on Thursday, April 3.
Officers on patrol near the 300 block of E. Elmwood Avenue first spotted Samani in the area just before 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
“The officers were aware that Samani was on current probation with search and seizure,” commented Lt. Eduardo Ruiz of the Burbank Police Department.
When officers approached Samani, he allegedly dropped a container containing suspected methamphetamine and a search of his person resulted in the recovery of narcotics paraphernalia and marijuana, added Ruiz.
Samani was arrested and transported to the Burbank Jail.
“During a booking search, the officers recovered a straw with suspected methamphetamine hidden on his person,” said Ruiz.
Samani was then booked for violations of 11377(A) HS, 11365 HS and 4573.6 PC. His bail was set at $25,000.
