The Burbank Police Department hosted this year’s National Night Out Block Party on the Chandler Bike Path, Tuesday evening, August 7. Hundreds of community members visited booths and met local police officers and firefighters.

McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog was on hand to greet kids and adults. Burbank’s SWAT Team was on hand with the Bearcat Armored Vehicle.

The John Burroughs High School Jazz Band entertained people. Additional attractions included a bounce house and bicycle safety course.

Members from the Burbank Police Department’s Mental Health Evaluation Team were on hand to answer questions as were dispatchers from the Police Department and Verdugo Fire Dispatch.

Throughout Burbank, approximately 20 neighborhood block parties were held, some serving potluck dinners, while others had food trucks, ice cream vendors, face painters, a chili cook off and a pie-tasting contest.
