The Burbank Neighborhood Leadership Program recently graduated members during a ceremony held at City Hall. The class met weekly on Saturdays and learned how the City departments such as the Recycle Center, the Police and Fire Departments functioned. They also visited the Walt Disney Company.
The class chose a project and they decided to raise funds for the John Muir Music Program. They raised a total of $7,104.07 that will help the Muir Music Program purchase new brass instruments.
Members of the Class of 2015 are: Rosario Aquino, Rachel Capiral, Julio Donayre, Joseph Elhacem, Monica Groves, Andre Kirkorian, Diana Means and Marirose “MO” Occhiogrosso.
The class received a certificate from Mayor Bob Frutos and graduation pins from Vice Mayor Jess Talamantes along with Councilwoman Emily Gabel-Luddy.
Principal Dr. Greg Miller of John Muir Middle School was on hand to accept the donation.
