By On October 31, 2011

Burbank Police, with the assistance of the DEA, collected close to 250 pounds of old medicines, vitamins, unknown pills and prescription drugs Saturday, during their first ever collection event.

Burbank Police Cadets Marlene Montalvo and David Nelson packaged several boxes containing the assortment of pills and medicines.  They will be incinerated, preventing them being used by drug abusers, or thrown into the toilet where they could end up polluting the ocean.

Burbank Police Officer Joshua Kendrick, noted that the department was very pleased with the results from this first collection effort here in Burbank.
