Recently, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Crescenta Valley Station, contacted several adult males for canvassing the La Crescenta area, “selling magazines.” One of the individuals was wanted for armed robbery and another had previous arrests for narcotic related offenses.
Glendale PD also reported arresting several individuals who had been going door-to-door, soliciting magazine sales. These subjects were arrested for possession of stolen property.
The majority of solicitors are legitimate and law-abiding citizens, however, soliciting in Burbank, without a Burbank license, is a violation of 3-4-1105.A of the Burbank Municipal Code.
