Burbank Police arrested Bita Jabbari, age 38 and a Burbank resident, for assault with a deadly weapon after she allegedly hit her roommate, a male age 64, on his head with her fists during a loud argument. On Saturday, January 25, police were called to the 200 block of E. Valencia Ave. by a neighbor, to check on a disturbance.

As officers approached the front door of the residence, they heard loud arguing, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department. A man opened the door and was bleeding profusely from the top of his head. Engine 11 was called to the scene to administer treatment for a laceration on the top of the victim’s head. Paramedics were able to treat him at the scene and the wound did not require stitches.

The victim lives at the residence and had offered to let the suspect, Jabbari, stay with him for a while. According to Ryburn, the two people fought over Jabbari wanting to bring someone into the apartment and the victim said no and ultimately asked her to leave. Jabbari then allegedly hit him with her fists on his head.

Jabbari was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and her bail is set at $30,000. She is due in court on Tuesday.
