A Burbank woman walking on Verdugo Ave. near Parish Pl. was kidnapped by a man and woman, who then robbed her.
The kidnapping occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday, as the victim, a 50 year-old Burbank woman, was walking from the Buena Vista Branch Library at 300 N. Buena Vista St., to the CVS Pharmacy at 1820 W. Verdugo Ave. She was approached by the male suspect, who came up behind her and asked if she spoke Spanish. The female suspect then approached the woman.
When the female suspect got into a blue SUV parked by the sidewalk, the male suspect grabbed the victim and pushed her into the backseat of the vehicle. The suspects then threatened to kill the woman if she didn’t take them to her residence. Fearing for her life, the victim showed the kidnappers where she lived on Keystone St. near Magnolia Blvd. The suspects then took the woman inside her apartment where they held her while they stole jewelry, cash, and her cell phone. The victim was not injured during her ordeal.
After the suspects left the woman’s apartment, she went to a neighbor’s residence and called police at 5:45 p.m. Police are not certain as to exactly when the suspects left the woman’s apartment. They left in the blue SUV, in an unknown direction.
The suspects are described as a Hispanics. The man is 25-30 years old, 5 ft. 7 in. tall, 110 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans. The female suspect is described as 45-50 years old, 5 ft. 2 in., 150 lbs. She was wearing black Spandex pants.
Police are conducting an investigation into the kidnapping and robbery. They are asking anyone who may have seen the suspects in the area of Verdugo and Parish, or in the area of Magnolia and Keystone, to contact the Burbank Police Department Detective Bureau at 818-238-3210.
Not only is this scary because it is in Burbank but, because this happened so close to where I live.
