Gary Bric’s ramp has always been known for their great seafood and steaks.
However, at lunchtime, when your either on a budget or time restraints, your just looking for a good burger. Look no further then the I-5 at Hollywood Way.
Yes, technically not in Burbank, but less then a quarter mile from the city limits, Burbank people can travel here with little effort or time lost.
As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted and seating is quick and easy. Our waitress was quick to bring drinks and had a great attitude as well as great knowledge of the menu.
Upon ordering the cheeseburger, I heard the words that I always cherish, “How would you like that cooked?” That’s your first hint your dealing with a real patty cooked by a real cook. Of course, medium rare is the selection. I also ordered avocado just because I was in the mood.
When the burger comes, it is a presentation on a plate. All of the condiments such as onions, lettuce and tomato are on the side along with a fresh pickle wedge. Ketchup and mustard are brought to the table but I asked for my number one choice in condiments, thousand island. Our waitress explained that it was made on the premises and you could tell by the smooth taste. The avocado was abundant and freshly cut that was placed over the cheddar cheese.
What was perfect about the burger patty was its imperfection. You can tell the patty had been hand made because it was not exactly round.
Of course it’s still about the taste.
Once I had the well sized toasted buns loaded up, the first bite exploded with all the flavors that you would expect from a fine steak house. Every bite had flavor from the first to last, and the bun held up great. The burger was cooked exactly right, and the homemade thousand island with the avocado was just perfect.
Side Notes: Not only is the burger a great size, but it also comes with a side (I picked the fries, which were well done to my standards although I did crave some seasoning salt). Here is the kicker though, the whole thing is only $7.50. This is one of the best values in town for the quality of the meal. In a world that Gucci burgers now go for $10 to $15 with no sides, this is one of the best deals you will find not only in the Burbank area, but all of Los Angeles. Usually I don’t get a dessert, but they have some salted caramel ice cream that is phenomenal.
