Davina Del Castillo had 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals; Sienna Brown had eight points and nine rebounds; Kamryn Cardenaz had nine points off the bench.
Burroughs (29-2) trailed 18-16 with 2:07 left in the second quarter but closed out the half on a 6-0 run to grab a 22-18 lead at the break. The Lady Indians’ put the clamp down on defense limiting the Lions to five points in the third (leading 30-23) and two points in the fourth quarter to win going away.
The Lady Indians play Peninsula (18-10) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 7 p.m. at home. Come on out and support the girls’ quest for a CIF title. The winner advances to the semifinals on March 3.
