The annual girls’ basketball Optimist Tournament at John Burroughs High School is often a chance for the Indians to build some momentum in preparation for Pacific League play. December 15 the Indians opened with the first of 15 consecutive home games, so this year is no exception.
Burroughs blasted Poly High, 63-20, behind 12 points form Jessie Adams and a solid all around effort from Davina Del Castillo who scored six points, grabbed 15 rebounds, added six assists and a game high five steals.
Jakarra Waddell and Bailee Trotta each added 10 points with Trotta adding six rebounds. Sidney Ortega scored nine points as well.
