The John Burroughs High School Instrumental Music Association (JBHS IMA) is having their 5th annual Community Day Fundraise event on Saturday, September 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Community Day is an opportunity for students of the JBHS band to reach out to the Burbank community and promote the JBHS Music Program. The band students will be handing out 2014-15 Calendar of Event postcards to patrons visiting the local grocery stores and establishments, and patrons will have an opportunity to purchase various fundraise items, band spirit wear, or make a monetary donation to the JBHS Instrumental Music Program.
The band is excited to have the opportunity to inform the Burbank Community of the wonderful music program in which they are involved, and invite the public to attend one of the upcoming music events at JBHS. There will be Tables set up at Handy Market (Magnolia Blvd.), Albertsons (Verdugo Ave.), Pavilions (Alameda Ave.), Vons (Pass Ave.), and Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant (Riverside Dr., Toluca Lake).
Also, a 20 member Roving Pep Band along with Color Guards will be performing at each of the locations throughout the day under the direction of new JBHS Band Director, Mr. Taylor Arakelian
All monies raised help support the JBHS IMA music program and a portion is set aside for the future purchase of new Marching Band Uniforms. The current uniforms are nearly 20 years old.
The afternoon will culminate with the pep band performing in front of Handy Market at 2:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!
