Burroughs Students Build Their Own Christmas Presents for Santa

By On December 6, 2013

Every year John Bene’s advanced wood shop class at Burroughs High School builds wooden cars, planes and animal shaped pull toys as a charity project. Students do all the cutting, shaping sanding and assembling.

Then the toys have been built, they are sent to the different art classes where students paint them.

Some of the toys are donated to the Holiday gift basket families that JBHS adopts, some go to Spark of Love, Toys for Tots and Childrens’ Hospital. The students work hard and get quite creative with their designs and the art students do a creative job of painting them.

Bene’s classes have doing this project every year for several years.
