BUSD Appoints Two New Elementary Assistant Principals

At last week’s Board of Education meeting, two new Elementary Assistant Principals were appointed.

Marilyn Snook will become the AP at Joaquin Miller Elementary School and Craig Bugbee will serve as AP of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.

Snook is a valued educator, known for her years of dedication to the Burbank Unified School District.  Since 2001, she has worked at Miller and Providencia elementary schools, and with the Special Education Department under the leadership and mentoring of Judy Hession, Jessica Fullerton, Sunita Batra, Terre Delgado, and Gail Copeland.

In those 14 years, Ms. Snook has served as a Resource Specialist and as a Curriculum Specialist for a total of 7 years at Miller; as a Curriculum Specialist at Providencia for 3 years; and as an Inclusion Specialist with the Special Education department for 4 years. Prior to joining Burbank Unified, Ms. Snook also taught in public schools in North Carolina for 21 years.

She has positively impacted many students over the years in her varied roles, and has helped to guide teachers and classified staff in carrying out their many roles and responsibilities. Snook graduated from Duke University with a degree in Psychology, from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a Master’s degree in Special Education, and from the University of North Carolina Charlotte with a degree in Educational Administration.

Bugbee is a widely-respected educator, known for his years of dedication to the Burbank Unified School District.  Since 1998, Bugbee has worked at Miller, Disney, and Jefferson elementary schools under the leadership and mentoring of Principals Judy Hession and Sandra DeBarros.

Since 2007 Bugbee has served as a Curriculum Specialist and helped to guide teachers and classified staff in carrying out there may roles and responsibilities. He has 14 years of teaching experience.

Prior to joining Burbank, Mr. Bugbee also worked within the Long Beach Unified and Torrance Unified School Districts. Mr. Bugbee graduated from Cal State Los Angeles, Pepperdine University, Cal State Fullerton, and Orange Coast College with degrees in Psychology, Elementary Education, and Educational Administration.

Bugbee is well known for his work with curriculum and instruction, skilled communication and relationship building, and most importantly his ability to bring out the best in students.
