The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the northbound Golden State Freeway (I-5) Hollywood Way off-ramp beginning Tuesday, April 12, at 9 p.m. through spring 2012. The closure is part of the I-5 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV or carpool) Lane Improvement Project now in construction between the Hollywood Freeway (SR-170) and Buena Vista Street in Burbank. Closing the ramp is necessary so that crews can widen the freeway, construct the Hollywood Way bridge abutment, and build sound walls and retaining walls. Detours will be signed. Closures are subject to change.

This project is building an HOV lane in each direction along I-5 between SR-170 and Buena Vista Street in Burbank, a total distance of 8.8 miles (4.4 miles in each direction). It is also replacing sections of concrete pavement, constructing sound walls, and realigning the Hollywood Way on- and off-ramps.
