Adoptable Pet of the Week: Astrid

Astrid is an Anatolian Shepherd that was found wandering as a stray here in the city of Burbank. Astrid is a large girl weighing in at 125 healthy pounds. Due to her size, she needs someone with large or extra large dog breed experience in order for her to thrive in her forever home.

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Hootie

Meet Hootie, a three year old, black, brindle, and white, American Bulldog mix currently at the Burbank Animal Shelter. He’s not a pup, but he's got a lot of bounce in him. Hootie is not small, but stands up on you to make direct eye contact. He’s a mishmash of physical characteristics, and you see something new every time you look at him.

Dog Fosters Urgently Needed!

The Burbank Animal Shelter is running out of kennel space for their dogs. They are dangerously full and need dog fosters ASAP.

Sweetie’s a pup that lives up to her name! This friendly girl is winning over hearts at the Burbank Animal Shelter with her soft eyes and goofy smile (check out those dimples!) Sweetie has enjoyed the company of every person she’s met. 

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Sammie and Luna

Sammie and Luna were brought to the Burbank Animal Shelter as their previous owner became ill and could no longer care for them. They are a very sweet pair of bonded dogs that need to stay together as they rely heavily on each other.

Kitten Foster Parents Urgently Needed at the Burbank Animal Shelter

Tidal waves of kittens continue to hit Burbank.  2023 is the busiest year the Burbank Animal Shelter Kitten Foster Program has ever seen.  They've fostered over 220 kittens as of today (Normally they foster 250 in a an entire year), and they're still coming in.  The shelter is bursting at the seams and needs your help! 

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Pablo Ruffien

Say hello to Pablo Ruffien, aka Pablo the great! This delightful boy is a ton of fun, and he was definitely loved by a family before coming to the Burbank Animal Shelter. He is the pure definition of “food motivated” and will give you a textbook “sit” every time (if treats are offered).

Bear Presentation Led by CDFW Biologist Sheds Light on Burbank’s Black Bear Situation

The Burbank Animal Shelter hosted a Burbank Bear Presentation at the Stough Canyon Nature Center led by Biologist Jessica West, from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW). The presentation was organized due to the recent black bear sightings happening among residents of Country Club Drive in Burbank.

Adoptable Pet of the Week: Manny, Moe, and Minnie

Manny (green bell), Moe (purple bell) and Minnie (grey and white) are the sweetest trio of three year old bonded cat siblings you will ever meet. They came to the Burbank Animal Shelter when their owner passed away. They are a little shy in new situations and need a few days to settle in, but once they're comfortable they are incredibly affectionate and LOVE attention. They are truly wonderful cats and the shelter knows they are going to do so well in their new home.
